SLAP Repair
Phase 1: 0-4 Weeks
- Sling at all times except for hygiene/exercises
- ROM: up to the ‘salute position’ only
- Pendulum exercises and Codman’s only until 4 weeks post-op
Phase 2: 4 Weeks – 8 Weeks
- Wean from sling
- ROM: increase as tolerated
- Strengthening: begin isometrics with theraband, prone extension hangs
- Begin scapular stabilization exercises, gentile joint mobilization
- Avoid active biceps exercises and forceful extension
Phase 3: 8 Weeks – 3 Months
- ROM: progress to full ROM w/o discomfort
- Strengthening: advance theraband exercises with weights
- Begin upper body ergometer
Phase 4: 3 Months+
- Begin sport specific activities, increase joint velocity of motion
- Transition to home exercise program
